UAE CSC History - Official Branch No 52

The UAE branch of the Chelsea supporters club was set up by Tim Ansell in 1999. The Dubai CSC became an affiliated branch of the Chelsea FC supporters club at the start of the 2000/2001 season.

In January 2004, Tim, due to other commitments had to step down from the position of club secretary. An extraordinary AGM was called to elect a new club secretary. I was elected as temporary secretary for the remainder of the season. The next AGM was held in September 2004 where i was elected as the permanent club secretary of the Dubai CSC.

In June 2008 at the AGM it was decided to change the name of the club from Dubai CSC to the UAE CSC. This would encompass all Chelsea supporters in the UAE.

We meet for the matches at the club venue Fibber Magee's on the Sheikh Zayed Road (for directions go to UAE CSC Venue Page) in Dubai. We communicate by e-mail and SMS. We have a monthly newsletter and a website (www.uaecsc.info) which keeps the club members informed of match viewing times and any social events. The time difference between the UAE and the UK is 4 hours GMT October through to April and 3 hours GMT April to October.

The UAE CSC branch is the oldest official supporters club in the Middle East. The aim of the UAE CSC is to provide a focal point for other Chelsea fans in the region and also for fans travelling through or visiting the UAE. We would like to establish meeting points/venues in other emirates for Chelsea fans not residing in the UAE.

The UAE CSC adheres to the Chelsea Football Club Supporters Club Policy. In accordance with this policy the UAECSC achieved gold level supporters club in 2008/2009, benefits of this are under the UAECSC Membership.

We look forward to welcoming all Chelsea Fans.
